Adam Shepherd Clinches the 2025 TCR UK Title

The culmination of four years of grit, development, and relentless pace—Adam Shepherd is officially the 2025 TCR UK Touring Car Champion.

After a season-long battle that came down to the final laps at the iconic Brands Hatch Indy circuit, Adam Shepherd and the Capture Motorsport team have reached the pinnacle of British touring car racing. Driving the 5G Communications-backed CUPRA Leon VZ TCR, Adam secured the crown with a masterful performance across the 2025 season, finishing 18 points clear of his nearest rival.

A Season of Dominance

The 2025 campaign started as it meant to go on. At the season opener in Donington Park, Adam signaled his intentions immediately by taking two victories and setting a blistering pace. From the early stages, it was clear that the battle for the title would be a two-horse race between Adam and Callum Newsham.

As the series progressed to venues like Oulton Park, Adam continued to “ram home the points,” achieving a perfect score with pole position, two race wins, and two fastest laps. These performances were a testament to the synergy between driver and machine, as the team transitioned flawlessly into the new CUPRA Leon VZ TCR midway through the year.

The Brands Hatch Finale: Nerve-Wracking and Triumphant

Entering the final weekend at Brands Hatch, Adam held a 33-point lead, but in the world of TCR, nothing is guaranteed.

Race 1: Adam converted a fourth consecutive pole position into a dominant victory. This 14th career win drew him level with the all-time series record and put the championship trophy within arm’s reach—needing only two points from the final race to seal the deal.

Race 2: Starting 10th on the reversed grid, Adam played the “long game.” While his rivals fought for every inch of tarmac, Adam showcased the maturity of a champion. Avoiding the chaos of mid-pack skirmishes and surviving a late red flag, he crossed the line in 6th place—more than enough to secure his first-ever TCR UK title.

“Discretion is the Better Part of Valour”

In the heat of the final race, Adam found himself in a fierce three-way battle for 4th. Recognizing that the championship was the ultimate goal, he famously yielded position to ensure the car came home in one piece.

“We’ve been struggling all weekend with the car—oversteer, understeer—but it was fast,” Adam reflected after the podium celebrations. “I had a big lead in Race 1 and then just brought it home. To finally get this after four years of hard work is unbelievable.”

A Team Effort

This title belongs to more than just the driver. A huge thank you goes out to Capture Motorsport for providing a world-class car, 5G Communications for their unwavering support, and all our fans who followed us from the rainy corners of Croft to the sun-soaked finale at Brands.

As we look ahead to 2026, the #1 plate will look very good on the side of a CUPRA. For now, we celebrate.
